New Municipal Tax payment method and dates in La Peche municipality

Change in dates, number and payments method of 2020 tax payments
At the December 2 meeting, Municipal Council adopted a resolution to change the tax payment dates and the number of tax payments for the 2020 fiscal year. As of January 1, 2020, the number of payment stubs on your tax bill will go from six to three, with payments due every 90 days (once every three months).

This will make it easier for residents to manage payments (reducing the risk of forgetting a payment and losing the associated privileges), with larger stubs that are easier to understand and a bigger window for those who receive a supplemental tax bill at the end of the year. The change will also bring substantial benefits for the municipal administration, making it easier to process tax accounts, streamlining payment processing management, reducing the risk of allocation errors in property sale transactions, and more.

The three payment stubs must be submitted by the following deadlines:

1st payment – 30 days after the bill date
2nd payment – 90 days after the first payment due date
3rd payment – 90 days after the second payment due date

It is important to note that even though there are fewer stubs, the payment period remains the same.
