before attending. No additions or corrections were needed. Desmond Lomas moved
to accept the minutes, seconded by Jean Louis Breton. Minutes were approved
Treasurer’s Report
Marie France provided a breakdown of the Association’s budget. An explanation of
the expenses was given such as maintenance on our roads as well as the usual
banking expenses for the association. 66% of the residents are members and pay
their fees. Our insurance is our highest expense. Discussion was had if the fees for
roads should increase. Action: David and Desmond to talk to residents that aren’t
paying fees to join the association.
Environment
General: Walter Oppici applied for financial assistance and we received $400.00 to
be used for water testing, they offer up to $1400.00 There was discussion of tall
weeds on Bob’s Lake and will investigate further. Pauline sent an email to the aquatic
specialist for the area, we might have her join us at the next AGM in 2025. There was
some garbage on the hill on Beausoleil, if the municipality doesn’t clean it up then we
will organize a fall clean up party.
Water testing: Water testing on all 3 lakes took place in June. The levels of e coli &
phosphate were higher than last year on Bob & Breme lakes but still in the good range. A graph will be made to show historical data of water testing results over the
years. Motion by Melissa: do water testing yearly if we receive financial assistance, if
not then we will continue every 2 years as per usual, 2nd by Desmond.
Roads
A quote of $2400 to grade roads from the gate to Konrad’s and from the gate to JL
and Walter’s. Fees from Gérard Joanisse cottagers need to pay the summer roads
fees in order to be included in this project. Motion: David to approve the road
grading and to offer a portion of association’s monies. Seconded by Jean Louis.
Discussion was had about the erosion of the gabion stones that hold the culvert in
place on Bob’s lake road, a project for 2025 at a cost of approx. $1800.00.
Security
No security or theft issues were reported.
Convex mirrors were installed on Gerard Joanisse at both hills for better visibility of
oncoming traffic.
Bear Sighting on a cottage on Lac Ruthledge rd.
There was a fire on lake Breme and the response by fire trucks was 12 minutes (very
impressive response time).
