Hunting season… reminder
We know hunting season is here since we have been hearing gunshots on occasion. We would like to remind our members to wear bright clothing around your property, when walking in the forest and on the road. Also this time of the year, under the excuse they are hunting, less than honest people do wander onto our properties, look around and take things if it’s easy picking . Below is hunting information our safety officer would like to share especially with those who do not hunters and may not be aware:
We are in hunting zone 10 West.
According to the Quebec government website, here are some dates when specific hunting is permitted for late 2019 and early 2020.
Deer hunting allowed until November 17.
Turkey season is in the spring.
Black bear season is over for this fall and winter.
Small game can be hunted till March 31, including the use of snares.
Rock dove and woodchuck can be hunted all year.
Grouse season extends to January 15,
Partridge until November 15, smaller birds till April 30th.
Quail and other specific types of partridge can be hunted until December 31.
Maybe less risky, frogs can be hunted until November 15.
