Fire on Rutledge Lake
The rain this week helped but fire hazards still exists. If it was not for the quick reaction of cottagers Monday August 5th, it could have been a lot worse. Imagine this
- Big tree falls (Naturally) and hits the power lines
- The tree ignites and starts a fire
- Loud “Boom” from the Transformer
That is what happened near the lake Breme to Rutledge stream bridge.
Great reaction from the cottagers:
- Call for help
- Start putting water on the fire
Emergency services from La Peche arrived quickly and put out the fire. Hydro Quebec got the electricity back a few hours later
This incident is a reminder to be vigilent.
